AMANDA PEARL is a New York based artisanal accessories collection that offers striking, sculptural, modern jewelry and meticulously handmade-in-Italy evening bags. Inspired by the resolute perfection of geometry and the beautiful imperfection of the organic form, AMANDA PEARL’s designs are imbued with her distinct sense of modern luxury.
Founded and designed by Seattle born Amanda Pearl Brotman, the collection is inspired by her Pacific Northwest roots, with nods to the shaping influences that she continues to reference - nature, science, music, and the visual and performing arts.
Amanda’s evening bag designs are framed by crisp geometry that gives way to sumptuous choices in materials - whether hand painted satins or luxe embossed leathers - creating a sharp glamour that has become a favorite of inspiring women of influence from the worlds of art, film, music and beyond. Her bags have been seen in the hands of Lupita Nyong’o, Meryl Streep, and Chloë Sevigny, and in publications such as VOGUE, Bazaar, InStyle, and WWD. Amanda has even received the Fashion Group International Rising Star Award for Accessories for her handbag designs.
Brotman’s relaunch of the AMANDA PEARL brand brings the addition of luxury jewelry – pieces with the same modern glamour as her evening bags, but that can be taken into the day, as elegant armor, sophisticated talismans - pieces that mix into a woman’s jewelry collection and reiterate her individuality.
New York based Amanda Pearl Brotman is the founder and designer of AMANDA PEARL, a luxury accessories brand whose aesthetic is a study in dualities, creating a truly modern sensibility and approach to fashion.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Amanda’s childhood was both full of culture and the arts, and the freedom to explore the wild outdoors. Twelve years studying and performing with Pacific Northwest Ballet instilled an unerring discipline and sharp attention to aesthetic detail, which was tempered by her ceaseless curiosity about the natural world.
The hard urban grid of NYC beckoned, where Amanda received a degree in Art History and Visual Arts from Barnard College. After a tenure at Marc Jacobs, in the technical design and production departments, Amanda brought her experience to Erin Fetherston’s womenswear label, where she was Collection Director, before decamping to launch AMANDA PEARL.
Amanda is settled in NYC with her husband and two boys, but still considers the Pacific Northwest ‘home’ – drawing upon its stunning natural beauty and innovative spirit as inspiration for her work.
